My first thing I recommend is going to a a good dollar store and buy the basics like you are going on a vacation for a week. I spent $50 and got lots of small size items to start a 72 hour kit. I put toiletries in ziplock bags. I found small games, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, first aid. small containers for pills, travel pills and small sanitizers. It was a fun family outing that the kids could help find and think about. Super cheap!

It just happened in the Philippines during the typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). All prepared stuffs were soaked in water and washed away by the flood. People broke mall entrances and took everything they wanted. 1 more thing to prepare is a safe place for your doomsday prep things.

I'd day the basic core of the kit would be the 10 C's of survivability.
Then I would add a book of edible plants in my area, then food and trapping equipment as well as extra clothing such as socks, underwear and t shirt and first aid.
That's if you are looking to start a bug out bag.
I think in general prepping is too wide a topic. It all depends on what your preparing for.
SHTF is a common one INCH is another or maybe natural disasters.
Then the plan Bugging in vs Bugging out.

Those stick lighters are handy but most don't work very long for some reason. Another thing with butane lighters is if it gets cold out they sometimes are hard to get lit .shaking and rubbing the lighter to warm it up helps. Zippos are nice but can be messy but on the other hand the lighter fluid is another source of fuel and they also make hand warmers that use lighter fluid . good video by the way I definitely agree don't feed the those prepper poaching companies that sell five gallon buckets of hamburger helper for $600 for some kits and much more for others .thank you

Regarding the batteries, flashlight etc. I think it would be much more prudent to have usb rechargeable flashlights, lamps, cb radio’s etc, then a decent camping solar panel.
It’d weight much less that a ton of batteries, and, it’ll never run out!
    Thanks for the vid man.

You’re an idiot. And you need to reprioritize. Every good proper knows the first three things to focus on his food water and Medical. Whether you make it yourself or buy a pre-made, doesn’t matter. It’s quality of the item whether it’s medical kits or whatever.

Folks if you are not saved, and would like to be included in the rapture of the church. Believe that Jesus's death on the cross, was enough to pay for ALL your sins , yes ALL ,(past, present and future) That is what the Gospel is about. We are saved by GOD'S amazing grace, through our faith in Jesus's sinless life, death on the cross and resurrection 3 days later . No additional works needed. It is literally that simple. Do it today, don't delay. Time is short. Ephesians 2:8-9

There is only one thing you should have added to the vitamins list- Potassium Iodide pills. Potassium Iodide pills ware good to protect you against radiation poisoning. At such risk of nuclear war, it is important to have.

As far as the canned fruit and veggies, you could achieve a similar nutritional equivalency by storing and eating cardboard. The Tang is better, also, vitamins and trace minerals in pill form would be best. Vitamin C is scarce, and natural forms are very unstable and don't last long.
